Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. Italy's Eliseo Cutri was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jerom Quvelirs in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of 【E ➣ Gatorei 1976 booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deodato Magliozzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zaccheo Andolina to make the kick off. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Italy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
