Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Szentgotthárd's Mátyás Kálmán started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vavrinec Holub made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gábor Tolnai in the 3rd minute. 6 minutes into the match, Szentgotthárd's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Jilek came free, but Zénó Tóth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denis Dostal struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Zénó Tóth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Czech Republic. Czech Republic's Erik Jilek got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zénó Tóth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denis Dostal went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Szentgotthárd getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ede Jósa hit a great ball. Gábor Tolnai kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 25 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Erik Jilek. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gábor Tolnai got free with Vavrinec Holub in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gábor Tolnai. David Rusil hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Szentgotthárd's Bálint Sándor shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 37th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vavrinec Holub but with some difficulty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denis Dostal during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Czech Republic's Denis Dostal got a free kick in the 38th minute. Erik Jilek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zénó Tóth having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Jilek in the 45th minute of play forced Szentgotthárd's goalkeeper Zénó Tóth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Erik Jilek made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Gábor Tolnai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vavrinec Holub saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Daniel Vitek hit a great ball. Bálint Sándor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vavrinec Holub read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Alan Rezek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Zénó Tóth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zénó Tóth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Dostal, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Erik Jilek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Erik Jilek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Czech Republic's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Jilek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zénó Tóth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bálint Sándor, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 84 minutes into the match, Mátyás Kálmán had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vavrinec Holub. Czech Republic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mátyás Kálmán was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Kvetoslav Janku hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute of the match Máté Dárdai shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vavrinec Holub showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. During the 93rd minute of the match Kvetoslav Janku completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kvetoslav Janku a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Szentgotthárd booed when Czech Republic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kvetoslav Janku didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3-1 came in the 95th minute when Endre Kun all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Vavrinec Holub. Szentgotthárd walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
