The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ziemowit Harasimowicz was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Léon Sureau. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abraham Beauval made a kick off. Karl Kubler might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl Kubler ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Les Pionniers de Touraine booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abraham Beauval struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Les Pionniers de Touraine. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Kubler in the 88th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 97 minutes, Karl Kubler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Les Pionniers de Touraine's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Kubler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 98 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Willy Stieler. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl Kubler in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Les Pionniers de Touraine fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
