Sigfrido Auletta struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Haji Sarap didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Italy. Gianpaolo Mascari made in the 9th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Siricio Liotta. The supporters of Joinville City - FSCMZ booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Cutri didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Drew Zaelani in the 28th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Eliseo Cutri. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 33rd minute of play forced Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Sigfrido Auletta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Eliseo Cutri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Joinville City - FSCMZ's Geovanildo Luis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Vittori narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haji Sarap having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geovanildo Luis to make the kick off. Zaccheo Andolina who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Haji Sarap when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 58 minutes into the game, Joinville City - FSCMZ's Geovanildo Luis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavio Vittori made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The audience was convinced that Adriano Curto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haji Sarap was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game.
