When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Marin Dindelegan put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Leontin Hârtopanu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. Dorel Iulian kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Marin Dindelegan did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Arnout Reekers 36 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petruț Arapașu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the game, Gijsbert ter Kruimer cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Petruț Arapașu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. Leontin Hârtopanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Netherlands's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
