Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pål Bratt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antal Valentin in the 20th minute of play forced The Green Fairies's goalkeeper Freddie Mattsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes, Boros Benedek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hungary and the The Green Fairies players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of The Green Fairies booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boros Benedek didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes, The Green Fairies's Ivo Calado shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fodor Daniel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Green Fairies reached it. The Green Fairies's Freddie Mattsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 22nd minute of play. Major Barna's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Freddie Mattsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. After 41 minutes of play, The Green Fairies's Vilhelm Berg made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fodor Daniel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Freddie Mattsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pål Bratt in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pål Bratt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Freddie Mattsson made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Pål Bratt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Major Barna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Major Barna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Mattsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65thth minute of the game Pål Bratt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 68th minute Pål Bratt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. The Green Fairies's Freddie Mattsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save The Green Fairies from getting a goal against them. A collision led to The Green Fairies getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Herbert Lundström hit a great ball. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Freddie Mattsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Many of Hungary's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Hungary may have spent more time on the ball, but The Green Fairies were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
