An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Lendaa in the 3rd minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great ball. In the 9th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Barreto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 26thth minute of the game Gijsbert ter Kruimer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nova Venécia-ES's Mauro Barreto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Natã Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitório Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Arnout Reekers made a huge save. In the 34th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauro Barreto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 38 minutes into the match, Nova Venécia-ES's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Mauro Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wim Wilmes hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Nova Venécia-ES's goalie and right to Gust Ennemans. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Nova Venécia-ES's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Mauro Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Paranaense, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitório Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Natã Quintal. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natã Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mauro Barreto, 0-4. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mauro Barreto. Gustaaf Groeneveldt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Nova Venécia-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonsalve Alabern didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Wim Wilmes made a precise shot to the right of Mauro Barreto. Nova Venécia-ES's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Mauro Barreto in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 93rd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mauro Barreto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 93 minutes, Lars Meesters made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. Nova Venécia-ES's Mauro Barreto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nova Venécia-ES.
