When Özgün Hatip came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Galapagos Islands FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Özgün Hatip couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, Eugen Mantoiu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eugen Mantoiu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Eugen Mantoiu sent off a good shot on target. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Markus Åström, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Niklas Möller kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After having played for 48 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugen Mantoiu to make the kick off. Dennis Lindberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 60 minutes into the match, Galapagos Islands FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Dennis Lindberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egbert Nijveldt kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Galapagos Islands FC's Dennis Lindberg. Dennis Lindberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Lindberg having to interfere.
