The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karol Pierz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 5th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Zaccheo Andolina made a precise shot to the right of Karol Pierz. RED BLUE STAR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Meldris Ruckanovs in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. Karol Pierz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zaccheo Andolina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Italy were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after RED BLUE STAR's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sigfrido Auletta took the corner. The corner led Italy's Siricio Liotta to fire away a dangerous shot which Karol Pierz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Felix Dragnea might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Vittori. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Dragnea ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 22nd minute Răzvan Spineanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Karol Pierz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Karol Pierz saved RED BLUE STAR from getting behind. Flavio Vittori made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when 姚然军 sent off a good shot on target. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Karol Pierz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Italy's Zaccheo Andolina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karol Pierz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. RED BLUE STAR's Karol Pierz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Zaccheo Andolina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sorin Manciu was the one to do the kick off. Karol Pierz made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Zaccheo Andolina sent off a good shot on target. Meldris Ruckanovs made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Dragnea. In the 56th minute of the game 姚然军 made a throw-in which Valentin Omescu played forward. Flavio Vittori showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 姚然军 in the 57th minute of the match. Zaccheo Andolina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Karol Pierz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Italy's Zaccheo Andolina got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind RED BLUE STAR's goalkeeper Karol Pierz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Meldris Ruckanovs made in the 65th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Dragnea immediately put the ball in play. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karol Pierz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. In the 70th minute 姚然军 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karol Pierz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adriano Curto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karol Pierz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Italy's Adriano Curto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karol Pierz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Adriano Curto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Karol Pierz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Italy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Italy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
