The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 3rd minute of play forced TSV Delliehausen's goalkeeper Elmar Brink to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 3rd minute, Albin Holweck had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 3 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Jörg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. TSV Delliehausen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. Germany made a substitution. Rolf Rothberg replaced Albin Holweck. In the 5th match minute, TSV Delliehausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wolfgang Jörg to maneuver through the defense. Elmar Brink didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frank Sachs went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of TSV Delliehausen booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malte Schiele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shingo Pensky could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Shingo Pensky scored 1-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tommy Kahn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shingo Pensky got free with Tommy Kahn in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frank Sachs took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elmar Brink. Elmar Brink dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shingo Pensky stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elmar Brink. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Sachs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Elmar Brink made a huge save. Germany's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Rolf Rothberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, TSV Delliehausen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Frank Sachs fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 88th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank Sachs charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Frank Sachs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Germany had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
