Biagio Cimino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Tommy Kahn skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 13 minutes, Biagio Cimino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saucho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Biagio Cimino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Biagio Cimino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Biagio Cimino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. Biagio Cimino took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Biagio Cimino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Willy Stieler kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Biagio Ciminos short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Tommy Kahn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alexander Di Massimo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amedeo Testi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Biagio Cimino was the one to do the kick off. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Amedeo Testi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Biagio Cimino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Germany's Adrian Dreifuss got a free kick in the 61st minute. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Biagio Cimino in the 65th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Alberto Villani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Alberto Villani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Bozzelli kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. After 78 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. In the 78th minute, Malte Schiele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Biagio Cimino in the 81st minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Willy Stieler hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Germany fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Saucho's Alberto Villani got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
