Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Vänge IF defense, Lars Meesters kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Di Xing Yu. The Vänge IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Di Xing Yu should have stopped the shot. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vänge IF's Di Xing Yu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 12th minute of play. The throw-in from Gust Ennemans in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Vänge IF's Östen Olsson. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Vänge IF's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Di Xing Yu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Schorsch Schmalzbauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Schorsch Schmalzbauer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Di Xing Yu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Di Xing Yu came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt. But to his dismay, Gustaaf Groeneveldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Di Xing Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 32nd minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Juan Lebron went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Di Xing Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Vänge IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. After the first half Netherlands were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vänge IF made a substitution. Dan Mårtensson replaced Joel Lidström. Di Xing Yu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a free kick in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Di Xing Yu, 1-3. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Di Xing Yu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Vänge IF getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Andy Robertsson hit a great ball. Schorsch Schmalzbauer hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Vänge IF's Di Xing Yu got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. Di Xing Yu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Vänge IF's goalkeeper Di Xing Yu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wim Wilmes. Di Xing Yu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands played a much better game than Vänge IF and deserved their victory. The Vänge IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
