In the 29th minute, Viriato Moura made a precise shot to the right of Nildo Lara. America Futebol Clube SP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Jonas das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. America Futebol Clube SP's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Graciano Coutinho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. In the 57th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Miranda to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute of the match Carlos Veiga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Amorim skillfully saved the ball. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute.
