Antal Valentin was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. If Albert Kraft had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alf Tempel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd match minute, Rapid Wien was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Bongartz to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Hagedorn was the one to do the kick off. Rapid Wien's Alf Tempel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 69th minute of play. Alf Tempel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Albert Kraft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fodor Daniel having to interfere. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Rapid Wien's Alf Tempel got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Many of Hungary's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Hungary may have spent more time on the ball, but Rapid Wien were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
