The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Armada's Färid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval de Queirós in the 2nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Armada defense, Durval de Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Färid Mondragón. The Armada fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Färid Mondragón should have stopped the shot. Dalmo Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ma Feng Sen in the 8th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Róbert Benkó managed to get in a good position for a shot. Armada's supporters rose to their feet, but Róbert Benkó was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dalmo Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Róbert Benkó blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Saldanha having to make a save. Dalmo Saldanha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Róbert Benkó in the 13th minute. A hard shot 17 in the game by Róbert Benkó from a close distance when the talented Dalmo Saldanha managed to make a qualified save. A well done corner resulted in Pedro Luís Ramalho drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind Armada's goalkeeper. A collision led to Armada getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. He Wei Feng hit a great ball. Armada's Färid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durval de Queirós in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Marcel Veiga got a free kick in the 36th minute. Ma Feng Sen hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes, Ştefan Grama mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Armada and the Jovens Democratas MZC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marcel Veiga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Färid Mondragón in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half Jovens Democratas MZC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Róbert Benkó stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dalmo Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbert Benkó in the 52nd minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Armada's corner Ma Feng Sen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dalmo Saldanha quite easily take care of the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Jovens Democratas MZC's goal looked a bit too open when Róbert Benkó came free, but Dalmo Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Mümtazer Kutlan threw the ball into play from the sideline. Armada's Ma Feng Sen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ma Feng Sen charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ma Feng Sen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th match minute, Armada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ma Feng Sen to maneuver through the defense. Armada's Róbert Benkó got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jovens Democratas MZC's André Luiz Medeiros was substituted for Adilson Loyola. Róbert Benkó blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Saldanha having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbert Benkó in the 63rd minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Dalmo Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Armada's Färid Mondragón got control of the ball when Dobromir Zagrodny tried to sneak it across the goal line. Färid Mondragón made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Dobromir Zagrodny sent off a good shot on target. In the 71st minute of the match, Xu Li Sang got a very nice opportunity to score, but Färid Mondragón was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pedro Luís Ramalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Färid Mondragón made a huge save. Róbert Benkó's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalmo Saldanha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Róbert Benkó notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Jovens Democratas MZC's Dalmo Saldanha. Dalmo Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jovens Democratas MZC's Jeferson Cunha was substituted for Durval de Queirós. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
