The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Ströms Diamonds's Tuomo Puikkonen threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aaron Zander, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kaarle Tukio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tuomo Puikkonen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Igelström in the 9th minute. Kaarle Tukio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pelle Möllgren having to interfere. The throw-in from Håkan Dahlkvist in the 15th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Karhulan Veikot's Arttu Piiroinen. Hemminki Kuuttinen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pelle Möllgren having to make a save. Ströms Diamonds's Pelle Möllgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hemminki Kuuttinen in the 21st minute of play. If Roni Vihermäki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ströms Diamonds's Pelle Möllgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaarle Tukio in the 25th minute of play. Kaarle Tukio took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pelle Möllgren. Pelle Möllgren dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Pelle Möllgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaarle Tukio, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oscar Igelström in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tuomo Puikkonen saved Karhulan Veikot from getting behind. Pelle Möllgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kaarle Tukio, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. With his leg Tuomo Puikkonen managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Ströms Diamonds's Oscar Igelström fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oscar Igelström to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Oscar Igelström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ströms Diamonds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Pelle Möllgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kaarle Tukio's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Kaarle Tukio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaarle Tukio got free with Pelle Möllgren in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Karhulan Veikot fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Karhulan Veikot's Kaarle Tukio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kaarle Tukio struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Pelle Möllgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karhulan Veikot. Roni Vihermäki hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th match minute, Karhulan Veikot was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arttu Piiroinen to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Karhulan Veikot walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
