Clemente Artizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Lenzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. After 15 played minutes Albiceleste F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Maria. In the 19th minute of the match Albiceleste F.C. got a corner. Jovens Democratas MZC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cosme Justin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Albiceleste F.C.'s Cosme Justin to fire away a dangerous shot which Dalmo Saldanha despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Clemente Artizar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Paes in the 25th minute of the match. Clemente Artizar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Paes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Albiceleste F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Paes came free, but Clemente Artizar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 played minutes Jovens Democratas MZC got a freekick which was hit by Laerte Bittencourt. After 38 played minutes Albiceleste F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Joel Mambru. In the 40th minute, Chico de Sousa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Artizar was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 42nd minute Marcus Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Artizar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Chico de Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente Artizar. Albiceleste F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chico de Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomás Avellaneda was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Albiceleste F.C. defense, Marcus Paes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Artizar. The Albiceleste F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Artizar should have stopped the shot. Albiceleste F.C.'s Clemente Artizar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Albiceleste F.C. from getting a goal against them. Jovens Democratas MZC played a much better game than Albiceleste F.C. and deserved their victory. The Albiceleste F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
