Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Samuele Kunz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Levi von Herren during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of YR Mechelen booed when Switzerland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Levi von Herren didn't get a good kick on the ball. YR Mechelen's Tuur Candries got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 6th minute Tuur Candries shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul-Louis Van Mechelen did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Hias Nüssli 8 minutes into the match. In the 12th match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Van Mechelen to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul-Louis Van Mechelen in the 17th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 19 minutes in the game Gustav Iseli did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jacinto Maurer. After 22 minutes, Leo Van Mechelen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the YR Mechelen and the Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuele Kunz took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andries Van Mechelen. Andries Van Mechelen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Samuele Kunz came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Switzerland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuele Kunz couldn't finish the play. Paul-Louis Van Mechelen in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hias Nüssli, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Leo Van Mechelen hit a great ball. Jacinto Maurer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andries Van Mechelen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The throw-in from Tuur Candries in the 45th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Switzerland's Rodrigo von Känel. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Paul-Louis Van Mechelen sped through Switzerland's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hias Nüssli. When Gustav Iseli fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Switzerland's protests and gave Gustav Iseli a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Switzerland's Gustav Iseli got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute, Switzerland's Samuele Kunz dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Samuele Kunz hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Gustav Iseli in the 75th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by YR Mechelen's Adolphe De Maerschalckx. Tuur Candries scored 4-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hias Nüssli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Terry Van Houdtvinck got a free kick in the 90th minute. The YR Mechelen support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
