With an all-out effort, Thunderstorm Riders's Flavio Vittori threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Konrad Resel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Martin Tudoran's late challenge caught a Italy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Tudoran helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th match minute, Thunderstorm Riders was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Tudoran to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kudret Tüzer got free with Flavio Vittori in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the match, Italy's Siricio Liotta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Damazy Kensicki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sigfrido Auletta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Damazy Kensicki made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Martin Tudoran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Italy's Adriano Curto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Damazy Kensicki. Damazy Kensicki yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Thunderstorm Riders fans cheered their team off the field, for while Italy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
