When Valentin Trucco fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Axenstein's protests and gave Valentin Trucco a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Axenstein got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Trucco. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michele Rieger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Michele Rieger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Axenstein's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Michele Rieger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Axenstein's Michele Rieger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 19th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michele Rieger was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Michele Rieger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 26th minute of play. Michele Rieger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 29th minute of the match. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michele Rieger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Claudiu Bumba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Claudiu Bumba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Michele Rieger successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 61st match minute, Axenstein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonny Schwyzer to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ragnar Lodbrok, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute, Ragnar Lodbrok left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Axenstein fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Michele Rieger in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Axenstein's Michele Rieger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Axenstein from getting a goal against them. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudiu Bumba, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Claudiu Bumba made a precise shot to the right of Arnout Reekers. Netherlands's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Kees Mooiweer got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 2-4. 91 minutes into the match.
