Ragnar Lodbrok scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michele Rieger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ragnar Lodbrok fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnout Reekers having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Axenstein's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Michele Rieger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michele Rieger having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. Ragnar Lodbrok sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Claudiu Bumba during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Claudiu Bumba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axenstein's Michele Rieger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 61st minute of play. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Lodbrok in the 63rd minute of play. Michele Rieger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Michele Rieger to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Michele Rieger. That made the score 1-2 after 80 minutes of play. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Claudiu Bumba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes into the match, Axenstein's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Michele Rieger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Axenstein's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Michele Rieger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonny Schwyzer kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michele Rieger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
