In the 12th minute, Bertram Svenningsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Chris Nygaard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Björn Blomkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anton Stenman in the 26th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chris Nygaard was the one to do the kick off. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Classon in the 55th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Chris Nygaard made a precise shot to the right of Björn Blomkvist. Karlsborg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Klas Åström during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Denmark booed when Karlsborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klas Åström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Chris Nygaard in the 69th minute really tested Björn Blomkvist's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 73 minutes into the game, Mikkel Wulff cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Björn Blomkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 78 minutes into the game, Thor Sjöberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. Denmark's Chris Nygaard quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Karlsborg's Björn Blomkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Nygaard in the 92nd minute of play. If Bertram Svenningsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denmark played a much better game than Karlsborg and deserved their victory. The Karlsborg players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
