When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Petre Humă sped through Hungary's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petre Humă was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Ernest Cazimir in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Hungary booed when Simared -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugurel Botescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, Simared -MM- could leave the field as winners, despite Hungary having more of the ball for most of the match.
