Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Candal in the 2nd minute of play. After 6 played minutes Matos Velhos got a freekick which was hit by Jiang Qing Lin. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Matos Velhos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner ended in Gijsbert ter Kruimer almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen did a great save. After 10th play minutes Henrique Candal shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Arnout Reekers and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike van Kampen having to interfere. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, David Eikelkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but David Eikelkamp was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mike van Kampen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 29th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mike van Kampen. Matos Velhos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustaaf Groeneveldt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 42nd minute of play. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Domingos Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 52nd minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Matos Velhos's Tord Böcklund got a free kick in the 55th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Mike van Kampen made a huge save. Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 66th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adalberto Peres in the 68th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes Matos Velhos got a freekick which was hit by Durval Meira. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Durval Meira hit a great ball. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabino Vilhena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Matos Velhos booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijn Doctor didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Tord Böcklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Tord Böcklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wim Wilmes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 94th playminute. Netherlands played a much better game than Matos Velhos and deserved their victory. The Matos Velhos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
