Albin Holweck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Malte Schiele hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Basarab Irod ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tommy Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basarab Irod in the 30th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albin Holweck during the 32nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

There was no doubt that Academia Rio were the better team. Academia Rio's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
