Mai Chuan scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wilson Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Viriato Moura scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Carlos Lucas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ezio Gøl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Rafinha de Brito could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Wilson Amorim however easily saved by the left post. 28 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ezio Gøl. Daniel Pimentel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felipe Barreto in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Lucas saved INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA from getting behind. 34 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ezio Gøl. João Carlos Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Rafinha de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the match, Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafinha de Brito. In the 47thth minute of the game Felipe Barreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's João Carlos Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viriato Moura in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Carlos Lucas saved INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA from getting behind. In the 59th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Felipe Barreto went to the cornerflag to take it. Portugal's Felipe Barreto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but João Carlos Lucas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezio Gøl in the 67th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Franklin Velloso hit a great ball. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. The supporters of INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 84 played minutes INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by Marek Lodowy. 87 minutes into the match, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but João Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Lucas Head Son. But to his dismay, Lucas Head Son quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 91st play minutes Lucas Head Son shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Wilson Amorim and just under the crossbar into goal. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Head Son in the 93rd minute of the match.
