The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jannes Ruttens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jannes Ruttens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of C. A. Pipon Pipon's Jannes Ruttens. Jannes Ruttens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jannes Ruttens came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jannes Ruttens didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Jannes Ruttens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Al Whatley got a free kick in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicky Bryson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Cesario Irazu came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Jannes Ruttens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Netherlands booed when C. A. Pipon Pipon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pepe Rompel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Jannes Ruttens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute of the match C. A. Pipon Pipon got a corner. Netherlands's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Al Whatley ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Al Whatley almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers did a great save. Jannes Ruttens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 76th minute of the match. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm McIntosh in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jannes Ruttens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pepe Rompel's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pepe Rompel in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. In the 89th minute C. A. Pipon Pipon were awarded a corner. Cristóvão Ortiz went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on C. A. Pipon Pipon's corner Cristóvão Ortiz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, C. A. Pipon Pipon's Mosa Alla got a free kick in the 91st minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Malcolm McIntosh came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The C. A. Pipon Pipon supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Netherlands's performance. The match ended with a win for Netherlands.
