The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wincenty Sikola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Szymon Michnik kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kazimierz Kossakowski in the 16th minute. Wincenty Sikola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wincenty Sikola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 22nd minute of play. Mathijn Doctor hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Netherlands from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute, Kazimierz Kossakowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wincenty Sikola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincenty Sikola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of EB Specjal Gdansk's Wincenty Sikola. Wincenty Sikola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kazimierz Kossakowski in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wincenty Sikola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Netherlands booed when EB Specjal Gdansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksander Piechna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired a really elegant long shot, but Wincenty Sikola threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post.
