Eleuterio Loramendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The audience was convinced that Saul Martino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 19th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleuterio Loramendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Candido Lopes hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Martino in the 25th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eleuterio Loramendi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eleuterio Loramendi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 30th minute of play. Eleuterio Loramendi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the match, Deportivo Tood's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Eleuterio Loramendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Deportivo Tood players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-1.

In the 62nd match minute, Deportivo Tood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Candido Lopes to maneuver through the defense. Saul Martino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnout Reekers having to make a save. 71 minutes into the game, Deportivo Tood's Saul Martino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 80 played minutes Deportivo Tood got a freekick which was hit by Ricky Mollo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Eleuterio Loramendi in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Deportivo Tood's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miroslaw Budarz in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Tood's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Tood's Ermegildo Lluciano got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Miroslaw Budarz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. The Deportivo Tood support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
