A beautiful save bye a k l p j f c a's goalie prevented a goal. Mateo Mergildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graeme Gordon in the 11th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phillip McKeochan in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mateo Mergildo saved a k l p j f c a from getting behind. In the 16th minute Brad Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesse McJames saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Hette Visscher kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jesse McJames. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Smiddy Celts's goalkeeper Jesse McJames had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hette Visscher. In the 24th minute, Wilhelm Arvidsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Laerte Tande sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mateo Mergildo skillfully saved the ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Hette Visscher got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jesse McJames was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Mateo Mergildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phillip McKeochan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Mergildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phillip McKeochan in the 33rd minute of the match. Laerte Tande made a great header on Smiddy Celts's corner, it was just that a k l p j f c a's Mateo Mergildo managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Gunn in the 37th minute of play forced a k l p j f c a's goalkeeper Mateo Mergildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hette Visscher's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jesse McJames firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 40th minute, Laerte Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Smiddy Celts from getting a goal against them. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brad Foley to strike the kick off in the second half. Paddy Thomson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Mergildo having to interfere. 52 minutes into the game, a k l p j f c a's Brad Foley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jesse McJames made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Smiddy Celts's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Laerte Tande in the 60th minute. Smiddy Celts's Laerte Tande was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mateo Mergildo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 62nd minute Wal McVean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Mergildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. a k l p j f c a's Brad Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. a k l p j f c a's Mateo Mergildo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save a k l p j f c a from getting a goal against them. Jesse McJames showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harvey Haugue, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After having played for 77 minutes, Zinon Moustogiannis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. a k l p j f c a's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zinon Moustogiannis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Smiddy Celts made a substitution. Graeme McRobie replaced Graeme Gordon. Mateo Mergildo came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Smiddy Celts's Sean McDrain. But to his dismay, Sean McDrain quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 86 played minutes a k l p j f c a got a freekick which was hit by Tomasz Las Casas. Phillip McKeochan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phillip McKeochan struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Mateo Mergildo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smiddy Celts. If Graeme McRobie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
