Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulysses Madureira in the 6th minute of play. In the 6thth minute of the game Ulysses Madureira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smiddy Celts's Jesse McJames was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Rambo in the 8th minute of play forced Smiddy Celts's goalkeeper Jesse McJames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Ulysses Madureira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clapham Comets F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Mitchell Godwin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute Paddy Thomson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Leguizamón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jesse McJames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulysses Madureira in the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Phillip McKeochan got free with Ariel Leguizamón in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Smiddy Celts's Ariel Leguizamón threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Graeme Gordon, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Smiddy Celts's Wal McVean got a free kick in the 36th minute. Ulysses Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jesse McJames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Graeme McRobie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the game, Tommy Gunn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Smiddy Celts's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clapham Comets F.C. the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Smiddy Celts was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Gunn to maneuver through the defense. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The Jesse McJames was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Smiddy Celts's Graeme Gordon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ariel Leguizamón made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Smiddy Celts's Graeme Gordon got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Ariel Leguizamón didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smiddy Celts. The Smiddy Celts supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Clapham Comets F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Clapham Comets F.C..
