In the 24th minute, Frank Sachs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Germany fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Germany's Frank Sachs sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heiner Studer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Germany's Frank Sachs was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Heiner Studer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Germany's Albin Holweck got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Sachs got free with Heiner Studer in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Germany's Heiner Studer threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albin Holweck, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Owain Wollenmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. Louie Anderjoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. FC Union Weberei's zone, Albin Holweck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heiner Studer came out of the goal and Albin Holweck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willy Stieler during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Willy Stieler. Albin Holweck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Heiner Studer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Louie Anderjoli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of 1. FC Union Weberei booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Owain Wollenmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Owain Wollenmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 1. FC Union Weberei were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
