Vavrinec Holub didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC ANC. In the 4th match minute, FC ANC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Marincean to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC ANC's goalkeeper Petrică Dăscălescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 6 minutes into the game, Gelu Minda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC ANC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Czech Republic the free kick. The supporters of Czech Republic booed when FC ANC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelu Minda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vavrinec Holub made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Aristide Chifu sent off a good shot on target. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nistor Sterescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute, Aristide Chifu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC ANC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. David Rusil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petrică Dăscălescu came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Czech Republic's Erik Jilek. But to his dismay, Erik Jilek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Alan Rezek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vavrinec Holub showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nistor Sterescu in the 28th minute of the match. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Ivan Marincean hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nistor Sterescu in the 33rd minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Dostal hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. If Aristide Chifu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC ANC's Aristide Chifu got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Vavrinec Holub made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gheorghe Dumitrana in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Aristide Chifu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vavrinec Holub was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 59 minutes into the match, FC ANC's Nistor Sterescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vavrinec Holub narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to FC ANC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Radu Rucăreanu hit a great ball. When Erik Jilek came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Czech Republic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Jilek couldn't finish the play. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristide Chifu, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Kvetoslav Janku hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When FC ANC's Ilie Hodorog in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Czech Republic's goalie prevented a goal. 69 minutes into the game, FC ANC's Ilie Hodorog nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vavrinec Holub made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 73rd minute, Horea Apăvăloaie made a precise shot to the right of Vavrinec Holub. Czech Republic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Erik Jilek's late challenge caught a FC ANC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erik Jilek helped the player get up and apologised. In the 77th minute, Erik Jilek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Rusil kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Czech Republic's Valdemar Turecek got a free kick in the 91st minute. After recieving a nice pass, FC ANC's Stelian Ciocoiu tried to score from far away in the 92nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ilie Hodorog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vavrinec Holub having to interfere. FC ANC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
