Emmanuel Devaud breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rayan Blaize in the 14th minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Henrich Slany to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vavrinec Koleno succeeded in the game's 25th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Jérôme Gestin got a throw-in 28 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Patrice Ruellan. 31 minutes into the match, Athéna's goal looked a bit too open when Metod Mlynar came free, but Emmanuel Devaud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Athéna's Emmanuel Devaud played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metod Mlynar in the 33rd minute of play. In the 38th minute, Jérôme Gestin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Kornel Jahoda. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Cuvilliez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jérôme Gestin charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 76thth minute of the game André Cuvilliez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Slovakia's Henrich Slany was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 77 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Vít Biskup. In the 79th minute, Rayan Blaize left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Athéna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 85th minute, Jérémie Boix made a precise shot to the right of Henrich Slany. Slovakia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Oliver Holub struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Emmanuel Devaud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slovakia. Henrich Slany showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrice Ruellan, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Slovakia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Athéna.
