With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Olaru in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christof Deroek saved Selebi-Phikwe from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, Romania's goalkeeper Carol Stinga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benedicto Atarratze. Christof Deroek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costica Vladimiri in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Olaru in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christof Deroek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Romania fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Romania's Adam Olaru looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 35 minutes into the match, Selebi-Phikwe's goal looked a bit too open when Costica Vladimiri came free, but Christof Deroek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cosmin Barbulescu got a throw-in 36 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Rasvan Cristescu. When Benedicto Atarratze came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Selebi-Phikwe fans jumped to their feet. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Selebi-Phikwe fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Romania were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
