Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. Sigfrido Auletta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zacarias Cabrero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nazario Arechavala. Zacarias Cabrero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 36th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 47th minute of the game was made by Nicolas Diniz with José Macías as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 48th minute, Zaccheo Andolina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zaccheo Andolina stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nicolas Diniz made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Chiriboga Torres immediately put the ball in play. 55 minutes into the match, Azul Y Plomo's goal looked a bit too open when Sigfrido Auletta came free, but Zacarias Cabrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
