Tommy Kahn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Velasco Rollan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 19th minute, Velasco Rollan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A sloppy throw-in by Chris Mergenthaler in the 28th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sociedad Anónima's Lleir Santiso. In the 33rd minute, Velasco Rollan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Velasco Rollan went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Velasco Rollan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's Zavior Negral got a free kick in the 57th minute. The audience was convinced that Velasco Rollan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Velasco Rollan in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gianluigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Germany's Sven Krakouer seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Sven Krakouer the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Germany protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Sven Krakouer had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 73rd minute, Sven Krakouer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sociedad Anónima's Cordaryal Valdecañas was substituted for Ramos Trasmiera. Tulio Bringas didn't quite understand what happened when in the 76 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Sociedad Anónima's Marino Malet was substituted for Pero Barrutia. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marino Malet, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Velasco Rollan went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. Sociedad Anónima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Velasco Rollan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Velasco Rollan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marino Malet in the 95th minute of play. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
