After 5 played minutes Metapalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Rodrigues. 10 minutes into the match, Dante Rafe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Ascencio. Celta de Virgos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dante Rafe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's Benny Niva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gavino Belarmo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gavino Belarmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benny Niva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when Metapalo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Negroni didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benny Niva got free with Gavino Belarmo in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd match minute, Celta de Virgos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dündar Aynacıoğlu to maneuver through the defense. Valentin Negroni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentin Negroni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Ascencio having to interfere. Metapalo FC's Gavino Belarmo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Niva in the 40th minute of play. Gavino Belarmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dündar Aynacıoğlu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Celta de Virgos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Metapalo FC were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valentin Negroni made a kick off. Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo was substituted for Benny Niva. Gavino Belarmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardino Rosio, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When Valentin Negroni came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Metapalo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Negroni couldn't finish the play. Sergio Sayvion hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dante Rafe got free with Zacarias Ascencio in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 79 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gavino Belarmo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If David Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Astudillo in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gavino Belarmo saved Metapalo FC from getting behind. David Astudillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gavino Belarmo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Astudillo ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Astudillo in the 91st minute of play forced Metapalo FC's goalkeeper Gavino Belarmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Astudillo struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Gavino Belarmo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Celta de Virgos. In the 93rd match minute, Celta de Virgos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dündar Aynacıoğlu to maneuver through the defense.
