Juvenal Madureira made in the 8th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Serbia's Borjan Golubovic. Durval Liberato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Borjan Golubovic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Leça da Palmeira F.C's Vladimiro Matias nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Alcides Gomes came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Joaquim Guarda threw the ball into play from the sideline. Serbia's Borjan Golubovic quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladimiro Matias, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Matias came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Leça da Palmeira F.C's Matías Vianna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. That made the score 2-0 after 33 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Vianna in the 36th minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vladimiro Matias in the 40th minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeferino Ramos went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Sreten Popovic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Matías Vianna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. The goal made the score 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vladimiro Matias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Vladimiro Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Matias in the 63rd minute of play. Vladimiro Matias scored 8-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 77 minutes into the match, Carlos Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zvezdan Nedeljkovic. Serbia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Matias in the 80th minute of play. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Vianna in the 84th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matías Vianna in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saved Serbia from getting behind. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Vianna in the 93rd minute of play. In the 93rd minute Matías Vianna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Serbia's Sreten Popovic got a free kick in the 95th minute. Borjan Golubovic hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeferino Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute.
