The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Egemen Servet was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The supporters of Portugal booed when Bulldog 07 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ermegildo Tebaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Bulldog 07's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Egemen Servet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egemen Servet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egemen Servet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bulldog 07's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paşa Ali Karahan to strike the kick off in the second half. When Paşa Ali Karahan came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Bulldog 07 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paşa Ali Karahan couldn't finish the play. The Bulldog 07 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Egemen Servet should have stopped the shot. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
