In the 19th minute, Germany's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rogelio Claris fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 29th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Reynaldo Stephen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Evelio Pes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evelio Pes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Tommy Kahn when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Evelio Pes sent off a good shot on target. Masao Koriotto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Tommy Kahn managed to avoid a goal in the 45thth minute, when Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Evelio Pes had several of the Germany's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 45 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Tommy Kahn as he didn't even see the shot coming. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frank Sachs to make the kick off. In the 69th minute, Theo Hayles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Sportivo Italiano fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. In the 72nd minute, Evelio Pes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 75 minutes into the game, Sven Krakouer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Germany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Sportivo Italiano the free kick. Luisito Bikendi shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Evelio Pes put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evelio Pes's shot from short distance in the 86th minute.
