Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Di Luca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. When Albin Holweck came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Holweck couldn't finish the play. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Sergio Sandalio sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frank Sachs in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelio Di Luca saved Atletico San Jacopino from getting behind. Germany's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frank Sachs in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Germany's Chris Mergenthaler got a free kick in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aurelio Di Luca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31st minute, Adrian Dreifuss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Armando Di Prinzio's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Di Prinzio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Germany booed when Atletico San Jacopino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Di Prinzio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Di Luca having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When Atletico San Jacopino's Er Didia in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 60 played minutes Atletico San Jacopino got a freekick which was hit by Armando Di Prinzio. 69 minutes into the match, Er Didia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Er Didia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Atletico San Jacopino made a substitution. Nik Tjæder replaced Amos Atroce.
