Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Guga Souto started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Serbia from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Eugênio Tróia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugênio Tróia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th minute Guga Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serbia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Zé Pedro da Mata scored to the left of an out of position Zvezdan Nedeljkovic, making the score, 1-0. If Guga Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Serbia's attentive Momir Gisic managed to snatch the ball when Nelsinho Lima made a throw-in in the 19th minute of the game. In the 19th minute of the match Momir Gisic shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo José Fontes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro da Mata in the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Basílio Perez hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Guga Souto took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to make any attempt to save it. When Flávio Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Dionísio couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Sreten Popovic hit a great ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Miljan Gavrilovic managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serbia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miljan Gavrilovic was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Basílio Perez got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Zé Pedro da Mata. A collision led to Serbia getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Sreten Popovic hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
In the 52ndth minute of the game Zé Pedro da Mata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Serbia's Zvezdan Nedeljkovic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Pedro da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute Flávio Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Dionísio in the 63rd minute of play forced Serbia's goalkeeper Zvezdan Nedeljkovic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugênio Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Momir Gisic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 68 played minutes Serbia got a freekick which was hit by Borjan Golubovic. In the 69th minute of the match Eusébio Cosme sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic skillfully saved the ball. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Serbia's goal looked a bit too open when Flávio Dionísio came free, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute Guga Souto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Serbia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zvezdan Nedeljkovic should have stopped the shot. Sreten Popovic could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Paulo José Fontes made a huge save. Borjan Golubovic kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, Goiás Esporte Clube's Zé Pedro da Mata nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Goiás Esporte Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
