The referee ignored Denmark's protests and gave Lars Steen a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Denmark's Lars Steen got a free kick in the 2nd minute. In the 6th minute Chris Nygaard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Ubelteso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Justo Perfecto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club A.Douglas Haig's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Denmark the free kick. In the 7th match minute, Club A.Douglas Haig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justo Perfecto to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Astrada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. Bertram Svenningsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Victorio Ubelteso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 minutes, Bernardo Romeo made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Denmark's Keld Paulsen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Club A.Douglas Haig's Justo Perfecto got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mikkel Wulff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Victorio Ubelteso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Osvaldo Astrada made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Denmark's Keld Paulsen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Osvaldo Astrada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chris Nygaard to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Club A.Douglas Haig's Gualterio Tibalt got a free kick in the 52nd minute. An unexpected shot in the 54th minute by Lars Steen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Panfilo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Romeo in the 60th minute of play. When Carlos Panfilo came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Club A.Douglas Haig fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Panfilo couldn't finish the play. Fulgencio Gizon kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Fulgencio Gizon got a throw-in 74 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Carlos Panfilo. Chris Nygaard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Denmark's zone, Carlos Panfilo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Carlos Panfilo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inocencio Sabino during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Denmark booed when Club A.Douglas Haig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inocencio Sabino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lars Steen got his second yellow card in the match during the 95th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 96th minute, Lars Steen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club A.Douglas Haig fans cheered their team off the field, for while Denmark had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
