Lech Gmoch didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, The Huns's Andre Huyterhoeven nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilbert Podolski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The Huns's Ekber Merdan got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Ekber Merdan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After having played for 19 minutes, Ekber Merdan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Huns's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ekber Merdan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilbert Podolski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ekber Merdan in the 21st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Ryszard Pilipiec kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vintilă Murgu. That made the score 1-3 in the 27 minute of play. In the 30th minute, Ekber Merdan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilbert Podolski was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After 34 minutes of play, The Huns's Ekber Merdan made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilbert Podolski was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ekber Merdan in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Podolski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 40 minutes, Ekber Merdan made it 1-6 with a short kick to the right side. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Gilbert Podolski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Miroslaw Pazura hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After 45 played minutes The Huns got a freekick which was hit by Sigfrid Weikert. The Pogoń Stawiszyn players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. The Huns were winning 1-6.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ekber Merdan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ekber Merdan in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Podolski saved Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting behind. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Gilbert Podolski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Pogoń Stawiszyn getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Mieszko Bartelak hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ekber Merdan in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Podolski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ekber Merdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 63rd minute, Andre Huyterhoeven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 67 in the game by Ekber Merdan from a close distance when the talented Gilbert Podolski managed to make a qualified save. Pogoń Stawiszyn's players were relieved. Gilbert Podolski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ekber Merdan in the 69th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Gilbert Podolski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ekber Merdan. After some careless play in the Pogoń Stawiszyn defense, Ekber Merdan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilbert Podolski. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adam Kaznocha during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Ekber Merdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Ekber Merdan managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Huns's supporters rose to their feet, but Ekber Merdan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Podolski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. The Huns had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
