Sporting Royal's Leontin Ilieș played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ekber Merdan in the 5th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rony Dudu in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vintilă Murgu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ekber Merdan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Royal's zone, Ekber Merdan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leontin Ilieș came out of the goal and Ekber Merdan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Albert Dima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo Matos took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vintilă Murgu. Vintilă Murgu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 26th minute, Ekber Merdan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leontin Ilieș was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 30 minutes into the match, Sporting Royal's goalkeeper Leontin Ilieș had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ekber Merdan. In the 31st minute of the match The Huns got a corner. Sporting Royal's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andre Huyterhoeven ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led The Huns's Andre Huyterhoeven to fire away a dangerous shot which Leontin Ilieș despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alin Dragalina kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ekber Merdan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Albert Dima made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ionică Predescu however managed to control. Leontin Ilieș took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekber Merdan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leontin Ilieș was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Ekber Merdan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ekber Merdan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Vintilă Murgu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Dudu in the 45th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Sporting Royal's Federico Moura got a free kick in the 76th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Sporting Royal's goal looked a bit too open when Ekber Merdan came free, but Leontin Ilieș reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Ekber Merdan made a precise shot to the right of Leontin Ilieș. Sporting Royal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Scott Martindale scored 7-1 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leontin Ilieș, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Huns's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
