Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Kusko in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th match minute, Slovakia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vavrinec Koleno to maneuver through the defense. When Enrique Mitxaut fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's protests and gave Enrique Mitxaut a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Metod Mlynar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Pavol Koleno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mano Dios showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Holub in the 21st minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Metod Mlynar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Slovakia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Metod Mlynar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mano Dios having to interfere. After 32 played minutes DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Mino. In the 37th minute of the game Enrique Mitxaut made a throw-in which Generoso Goren played forward. Henrich Slany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Kusko in the 40th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's zone, Metod Mlynar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mano Dios came out of the goal and Metod Mlynar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 45 played minutes Slovakia got a freekick which was hit by Stefan Havel. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emilio Bikendi was the one to do the kick off. DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Slovakia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Americo Boniel took the corner. DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's Americo Boniel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Henrich Slany in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA's Urbano Kusko got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the game, Slovakia's Metod Mlynar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mano Dios made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Vavrinec Koleno charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vavrinec Koleno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Slovakia getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Vavrinec Koleno hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Urbano Kusko notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Slovakia's Henrich Slany. Henrich Slany was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 97th minute, Pavol Koleno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henrich Slany showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Generoso Goren in the 99th minute of the match. Slovakia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
