The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Almir Salgado in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antoni Beninda came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when Netherlands's Wim Wilmes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vila Zumbi's Antoni Beninda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 24th minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Vila Zumbi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Vila Zumbi's Almir Salgado. But to his dismay, Almir Salgado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 41st minute Almir Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Matías Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antoni Beninda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Antoni Beninda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antoni Beninda made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoni Beninda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vila Zumbi's Golo Cabezudo got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wim Wilmes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mathijn Doctor made in the 84th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Vila Zumbi's Dadá Maravilha. Antoni Beninda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antoni Beninda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Vila Zumbi's Antoni Beninda got control of the ball when Gustaaf Groeneveldt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antoni Beninda was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Gustaaf Groeneveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3.
