An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Francisco Conceicão got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some careless play in the Atlético Grau Piura defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tartalo Delatorre. The Atlético Grau Piura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tartalo Delatorre should have stopped the shot.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half.
