An unexpectedly hard shot by Raik Topuz in the 4th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Olympique Fribourg booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Major Barna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patrick Knechtli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Knechtli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Knechtli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Antal Valentin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Téo Savion got free with Fodor Daniel in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Marcellus Walpert almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. In the 36th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Knechtli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Daniel Schroeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Antal Valentin came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Hungary fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antal Valentin couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Boros Benedek got a free kick in the 44th minute. The long shot by Marcellus Walpert in the 44th minute really tested Fodor Daniel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.

The wind increased when Antal Valentin made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Olympique Fribourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcellus Walpert to maneuver through the defense. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Patrick Knechtli made a huge save. Antal Valentin's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Patrick Knechtli firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Patrick Knechtli in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Olympique Fribourg getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Daniel Schroeder hit a great ball. Olympique Fribourg made a substitution. Olaf Hager replaced Daniel Schroeder. Hegedus Henrik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Knechtli having to interfere. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Patrick Knechtli made a huge save. Patrick Knechtli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 86th minute. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Patrick Knechtli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Olympique Fribourg's Patrick Knechtli got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Hungary left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Olympique Fribourg.
